If patients desire, they may receive oral pain medication ahead of time. During the procedure and immediately afterward, most patients experience minimal to no discomfort.
These treatments are very well tolerated. There are different types of vein procedures, but the majority are performed safely in the office. In rare cases, certain procedures may be performed in an outpatient setting.
